The Samsung Galaxy S3 is the first phone that can do contactless payments with Orange and Barclaycard’s Quick Tap. Just to try it out, you get £50 of free credit.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re a longtime Orange customer or just joining specifically for the deal. All you have to do is sign up or upgrade to an S3 contract with Orange before the 5th of October to get the £50 credit.
The successor of the Galaxy S2 can do contactless payments thanks to a built-in NFC (Near Field Communication) chip. Just download the Quick Tap app and load it with cash from your Visa or MasterCard credit or debit card. As much as £150 can be loaded. You can spend as much as £20 in every transaction.
Paying for stuff is easy. All you have to do is tap your phone against a reader. A PIN is not needed, but you can set one up for added security.
The Galaxy S3 with Quick Tap will go on sale on the 5th of September.
